A day rich in sensations and emotions!
At first glance, you’re instantly charmed by this little corner of paradise lost in the ocean. You’ll discover little coves of blond sand, beaches with crystal-clear waters, dazzling white sandbanks that are uncovered at low tide… in short, this is Brittany as you’ve never seen it before! The Glénan archipelago is made up of 22 islands and islets that protect a magnificent lagoon of crystal-clear waters unrivalled in Brittany. Île St Nicolas, the main island, is just 2 kilometers long, but offers magnificent views over the archipelago. With its turquoise reflections, the beach of Saint-Nicolas is often considered the most beautiful beach in Brittany!
What can you do on the Glénan?
If you’re a watersports enthusiast, you’ll be happy to know that Les Glénan is one of Brittany’s top sailing and water tourism destinations. The islands are home to Europe’s first sailing school, founded in 1947. Since then, the Glénans Sailing School’s reputation has spread far and wide, even internationally. The school organizes cruising, catamaran, dinghy, windsurfing and kitesurfing courses. Calling all enthusiasts! If you’re passionate about diving, the Centre International de Plongée des Glénan regularly offers introductory courses and instructor training courses. If you dream of exploring the seabed without necessarily donning a wetsuit, you can enjoy a unique experience aboard the “Capitaine Némo”, an incredible catamaran with underwater vision! Observe fish, shellfish and starfish from the underwater lounges on this unique underwater cruise. Don’t forget your camera!
Strolls and hikes on the Breton archipelago to disconnect for good!
Sea lovers and birdwatchers will be delighted, as the islands of the Glénan archipelago, classified as a Natura 2000 site, are home to many rare bird species such as the gravelot, as well as plants found nowhere else, such as the Narcisse des Glénan. Don’t hesitate to contact the Fouesnant-Les Glénan tourist office before your arrival at the campsite to find out about the dates of nature outings organized during your stay. How do I get to the Glénan from Fouesnant?
Visit the Beg-Meil slipway in Fouesnant, less than 2 km from the campsite. This is where the Vedettes de l’Odet depart for the Glénan Islands.
